A WORD FROM THE CHAIRMAN

CECI's Chairman, Dr. John Chien-Chung Li, began his tenure as Chairman of the Board at CECI in June 2008 after leading a distinguished career in engineering academics and public service which included an assignment as Vice Chairman of the Public Construction Commission (PCC) of Executive Yuan ROC, and more recently, the Dean of the College of Engineering at National Central University.

Dear friends,

It is a great honor and pleasure to have this opportunity to serve CECI again. In fact, upon returning to Taiwan in 1975 after completing my studies abroad, I started my professional career here at CECI during Taiwan's implementation of the "Ten Major Constructions" period. Over the past 28 years, I have had the privilege of spending 16 years working at a leading national university, 9 years as a governmental official and 3 years with a construction contractor. But, to be able to finish my career here at CECI is truly a unique and remarkable destiny, and on a personal note, a very fulfilling responsibility and experience.

Responsibility naturally brings forth challenge. And when facing challenges, CECI adheres to the principles of "professionalism", "teamwork" and "concern for society's development". The foundation of CECI's success is built upon the premise of uncompromising integrity, combining our efforts and paying careful attention to the ever-changing needs of our living and natural environments. Sustaining growth and benefits from modernization while maintaining the delicate balance between humanity and nature can only be achieved with the proper use and management of our technology and resources. Hence, at CECI, our priority is to only put into practice a plan that can actually meet its goals and purpose.

CECI is now in its 40th year of assisting in the economic development of Taiwan and some other developing countries. Looking back, one could debate for hours which special project or shining moment would be considered our most noteworthy accomplishment, but in reality, that honor would have to be our ability to keep pace with the changes in engineering technology and at the same time excel in our performance and competitiveness.    Such perseverance is without doubt a testament of our professional staff. Throughout our history, the diverse backgrounds and corporate spirit of our dedicated staff are the lifeblood of our success in bringing projects to life, researching innovative breakthroughs, exploring new areas of work and reaching out to other countries and markets. It's a tradition which trademarks CECI's magnificent past, present and future, and is the cornerstone of our philosophy and service.

Respectfully yours,
